Let me have a WHACK at it...
I've been burned burned to a crisp by Borgus Blisterbark far too many times in the last two days, so, for therapeutic reasons I want to inflict a satisfyingly HUGE damage number on some poor hapless enemy. Probably an undead, so PETA won't complain.
Now, I've seen the big numbers that can be inflicted on a frenzied healing signet player by a GvG catapult, but I want to be on the other end of the equasion. So, what would yield the best result? So far, it would seem that a melee holy damage attack on a low level undead enemy could result in a nice triple figure. My best idea so far was: Hitter: a dervish swinging a Wild blow or Reaper's sweep with Asuran scan, I am the strongest, Aura of holy might, Signet of strength (we only need one WHACK) Ally1 : enchants Hitter with Judge's insight and Strength of Honor Ally2 : enhances Hitter with Great dwarf weapon Optional: Ally3 : first hits the enemy with a low level Shell shock to apply cracked armor (I don't know if this would help with a low level foe who does not have a high armor, but since we're already going for overkill) Then find some poor lvl 3 undead somewhere nearby... If anyone knows where one using Frenzy could be found, we're interested Anyone else want to help coming up with an even bigger number ? Last edited by Iuris; Apr 24, 2008 at 07:31 AM // 07:31.. |

Do you mean Spirits Strength on Ally2? If so, it only targets the caster...

Oops, sorry, I meant Strength of honor... Spiritual strength is from another game
BTW, also found the ideal target: Hellhound that carelessly uses Frenzy Last edited by Iuris; Apr 24, 2008 at 07:33 AM // 07:33.. |

Interesting idea. You're probably right about the holy damage and you'll want a Scythe... so basically you're headed in the right direction. Against a low level enemy you're far more likely to crit as well.
Seems like you're going the right way. Let us know how it goes, actually. |

Well, you should be able to get a number around400+ with a scythe and the right combination of skills... If it's possible with a wand, it's possible with a scythe. Maybe. Yes yes pic or it didn't happen, I'll start looking.
I misresized it and was too lazy to reupload it so it got a tad blurry but the numbers are still visible, and if you look close you can see the mesmer with her wand. ;P That's a guildie of mine, highest I've been able to get is about 120 with a wand on my mesmer. :'( *awaits the "lolwtfomgbbqhaxphotoshop!"* Last edited by Kyomi Tachibana; Apr 24, 2008 at 08:25 AM // 08:25.. |

So you'd need to use a foe with abnormally high health. Last edited by Kyomi Tachibana; Apr 24, 2008 at 10:08 AM // 10:08.. |

When I was in GvG, playing a B-surge ele, I did over 400 damage to a frenzied warrior with lightning orb...
Keep in mind he was using frenzy, it was VoD, and lightning orb did cracked armor. It was still pretty leet though. |

Don't forget the Ebon Battle Standard of Honor, and if you don't plan on using Vow of Strength, then there's always Anthem of Envy. If you wanted you could also throw in a Fragility with a whole bunch of shouts that trigger a condition upon attack, although you won't actually see that section of damage, so it would be a bit pointless.
This is what I was able to hit with my A/D going in the same train of thought for buffing damage. I'm sure with an actual dervish and more buffers you could probably hit for higher. |

This keeps getting a little more interesting on a low lvl moster shell shock could kill him so that could be a bad idea to bring that skill.
you will have to test it and see. |

Shell shock can only lower armor to 60 AL, as per the Cracked Armor description.
